We need more info to help you, whats your amp, electrical, enclosure.

4 gauge wire might be part of the problem but im not sure.

Did you take the sub out and make sure your voice coils were wired right and not touching each other?

Did you check your amp ground and power and make sure they were secure and not touching?

Did you make sure your wires going out of the amp to the voice coils were secure and not touching?

To me it sounds like you jumped the basket. Push on the cone start down and see if it scratches. if its not that it could be that you got the fomer to hot and created a bubble on the coil. If I were you I would go back to where I got it from and do a worrenty. Say that it was F*&KED right out of the box.

Dealers get a lot of DOA S&%T

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :noevil:

And if he ordered it online straight from FI and they saw this?

update: i pushed and no scraping sounds happened.

Is the sub still working?

amp died??? bad RCA cable? Do you have another speaker you can try on that amp?

Do you have an ohm meter? Measure the resistance of each coil on the sub.

Brian

yes still making the sound when it hits low

It is probably unloading. Overexcursion is causing the coil to hit the back plate. That will shatter your coil in no time. I don't see why though considering you are tuned to 32 Hz. are you positive on the tuning?

look at the tinsel leads. see the patch of fabric on the cone above them? look at the patch, does it have some kind of imprint from the tinsels on it? If so, it is simply lead slap... kinda common with FI subs.

If they are embedded in the spiders he doesnt have to worry about that
