iv'e been doing some reading and am thinking of buying a saz-3000d to run my Fi q series 15's in my system upgrade. my question is a ho alt a must or will i be able to get by on factory for a while ? i have been looking around for an ho alt for my car but it seems like it's going to be hard to find one.

I have a 2005 sonata four banger not your everyday base mobile.

A must.... not really. It all depends on with you are going to do though.

If you are going to burp it, you will probably be fine with the factory alt. provided you have enough batteries. Although, you will have to charge them with a battery charger like I do.

If you are going to demo a lot, then yes an alt. would be something you need to look into.

If you are trying to run below 1 ohm, don't even think about it. Unless you have a large amount of batteries.

If you are resting at 1 ohm, you may see raise up to 3 ohm. A factory alt. will get you by, again provided you have the battery power.

i heard those amps can run on stock alts.

but you should have some batts to back it up.

i plan on running 3 batts on 3k also. but i believe blazers have 120 stock alt(could be wrong)

if your alternator is somewhere between 70-110 amps (which i assume it is) you will need a few extra batteries to see half of the 3k's potential. i will say from personal experience a 1500 is even a strain on a 90 amp alternator and an upgraded battery. i'm going to add about 100AH worth of battery and see how it runs, i would expect to run two or 3 times as much battery for a 3k.

this is going to be a daily street beater not going for numbers or anything like that, just want to have a good low end.

Same question here. My amps just arrived today. The SAZ-3000D will be pushing two 15" Nightshades D1. I bought a Powermaster D5100 for under the hood and a D3100 for the back. My stock alternator is 90amp in my CR-V. The best I have found so far is an Iraggi 200 amp. I plan on ordering that in the next month or so. I just hope those batts can handle that amp for a while. I'm just gonna have take it easy on it until I get my HO alternator. Hey, I need some break in time for my subs anyway. I just don't want to cause any damage to that 3000 by not providing it enough power.

might not be a must, but its worth getting. when i got my saz3000, i didnt put it in till i had my h/o alt in and 2 extra batts in the trunk

but there is a guy who host some local comps around here with a rd audio3250( ive heard its the same board as the saz3000) and he has stock alt and batt, and it still does some nice demoing before we start comps

X2. There is no way they are putting out 6,000 watts. He needs at least 600 amps to even get close. And if he was running 6,000 watts he needs to do some research because he should be pulling more than a 147.

Oh haha. Yeah I think not... He has to gave his voltage coming from somewhere. 600 amps on a stock alt and one yellow top? Dream on.

i read that today.. i didnt say anything... cause theres no point.... as he stated alot of people dont belive but...

it takes power to put out power.... there is no way around that... not even an MLA... it only makes voltage higher.. not amps...

75 amp hours will not cut it. .. if you wanna say it prove it.

if your gonan run 3000 watts on a small alt get batteries and a voltage meter.... watch your voltage,

Your stock alt might not last too long on a 3000D. A HO rebuild will be cheaper (an lighter) than piling batteries in your trunk. I installed a 3000d on a 120amp alt and an HC2400 and still couldn't hold 12V for very long.

At least upgrade the battery though.

I would also mention that your warranty might come into question running the 3000d on the stock electrical.

I've spent so much money already, what's another $400. I just sent an email to Iraggi to buy the highest output alternator they make for my vehicle which is the amputator 200amp/90amp idle. It was actually the same price as a 180 amp from http://www.motorcityreman.com/high-amp-alternators.html

It is recommended to have a H/O alternator and a good rear battery to properly power the saz-3000d. You can get away without the alternator but you'll need at least two good size rear batteries such as the PowerMaster D3100s. For the price you're going pay to pay for the extra battery in the back you might as well just buy the alternator.

Look my Mercury Cougar has a stock 130 amp alt and when the stock speakers hit the head lights on the dash go dim..

Just buy some good batteries to back it up..

You think one D3100 on a good electrical wud hold up for a 3000D?
