Posted March 13, 200520 yr Hey everybody, since I haven't had time to completely revamp our product pages as I am planning on doing soon, I figured I'd post some images of our new cosmetics since we have started shipping our fully black annodized aluminum coned woofers. We will henceforth be producing our entire inventory with these entirely black annodized aluminum cones, with the exception of the new RL-i8's, which will continue using painted aluminum cones (black on the front, silver on the back).Enjoy!

March 13, 200520 yr Author can i send mine in for a strait up trade??? and is that a foam surround??Sorry, no trade ins Not a foam surround, but good eye, because it is slightly different than our old santoprene surrounds. It is still rubber, can't remember which specific type off the top of my head, but it offers the same longevity and is impervious to warping and heat damage just as the santoprene, and also adheres to the glue used on the cone and basket better than the santoprene did (which is the primary reason for the change).

March 13, 200520 yr Author > it looks like foam...> ohhhh...now that i looked again that looks like a 10...I did some color/contrast balancing in the above pictures since they were taken in low light and I wanted to show more detail. In so doing, the image appears just slightly washed out (lighter) than it actually is, which is why you may be thinkin' that the surround looks foamish. I assure you it is not foam, and that the above image is of a 12" Rl-p, not a 10.. B) > Butyl ?Very similar. Just checked up on it and the actual compound is known as Butadiene Acrylonitrile or NBR synthetic rubber, known largely for its resistance to oils when compared to traditional rubbers.
March 13, 200520 yr the surround on that 12 looks bigger than the one on my 15 and a different material
March 13, 200520 yr I like the black cone. Looks cool.Always nice to see the 4 spoke still being used.
