Just got em back from the machine shop - had to get the holes tapped for basket bolts.

I talked to the machine shop about making an optional heat plate as well... would bolt between the basket and top plate. May be an option on these

We may do that - we'll see how everything works out!

Yes, the Nightshade is still going to be better for a smooth daily response -- these have much higher motor force and power handling than the Nightshade so will be superior for SPL applications.

These can still be used daily but are a bit more towards the SPL side than the Nightshade.

Don't be fooled by the smaller physical dimensions... these are only about 2 pounds lighter than the Nightshade motor and pack more motor force

Classic Nightshade should have smoother low frequency extension in an equal enclosure. The Nightshade-X will give louder peak SPL, though.
