Whats the difference?

Also for a mono block amp i should buy a dual 2 ohm fi?

Number of channels doesn't tell you power at a certain ohm load.

What are your goals? What amp? Vehicle? Electrical system?

Are you planning on an upgraded battery and second cell in the rear? That would most likely be too much for your stock system to handle.

Yes a D2 wired to 1 ohm.

how exactly would i do that? Also what am i looking at as far as cost.

A large group 31 battery would do you fine, look into Deka, Powermaster, Kinetik, Odyssey, Stinger for batteries. The cheapest is going to be the Deka for ~$200 shipped.

So 2 of those or just replace my current with one of those?

You probably won't be able to fit it under the hood. In the rear would suffice. You only really NEED one.

Keep the stock and wire it to your rear.

OK so just connect 0g wire from stock to new in the back. My alt should be ok though my system wont be on all of the time to save power

To make sure you don't fry anything you should invest in a digital voltage meter.

Just monitor your voltage carefully and you should be fine.

thanks for the help so i am going to run and extra battery also big 3 or will that make a difference?

Yeah the big 3 always helps.

In reference to Q vs BL I think the BL is more suited to your expectations but i don't think you would be disappointed with either.

thanks Ive decided on the bl now im looking for advice on big 3 which ive been looking at my alt/bat today and I cant see to find everything because the alt is very low.

I have yet to do the big 3 but I have yet to find out how to wire up a battery in the back. Anyone know if you would run a second run of 0 gauge to the back from the alt or from the battery ? And how you wire that to the amp?

  • Author

ok ive got big 3 down on lock jsut a couple quick questions:

1. I hook up my amp to the second battery in the back correct?

2. On big 3 I use all 1/0 gauge wire, with a 115 fuse between alt and bat post. Alt is 95a.

Yes, correct.

Some would advice you to fuse the alt to batt wire, personally I don't.
