Which is better? what are the good and bad points of each? can one handle more power? does one sound better? whats the deal? lol

The better one is the one that fits your needs the best. Same power handling. If you want sound quality get the Q if you listen to rap get the BL.

ya i listen to rap and hip hop, but wouldnt the Q sound better even for rap? or does the BL sound just as good when you listen to rap? and is the BL that much louder? or does it just hit the lows better?

i personally say get the bl, it sounds good, but im biased never heard the q but if you have little space get the q in a sealed box. if you have enough space for a nice ported box get the bl.

would a ported 2 cubic foot box tuned at 32hz be good for 1 12" Fi BL?

It will work. I think you should spend a few days doing some research before you jump into it.

sorry meant the Fi Q. thats the one i want to go with because i want the better sound quality. and would a 2 cubic foot ported box a 32hz be good for the 12" Fi Q?

That will work, but I still think you'd be happier with a BL. If you listen to rap, you aren't really concerned with true sound quality.

so the bass in rap songs wouldnt sound better with the Q rather than the BL?

Maybe if you played them side-by-side you would be able to tell the difference. Bass heavy rap isn't designed to win a sound quality competition.

depends on what rap. that southside stuff that has those pounding lows go with the bl...for TRUE rap i favor the q. from what i have heard the q plays the deep low notes louder than the bl but softer up top.

How low does "true" rap go?

he sounds like a non mainstream rap kinda guy. they're the only ones i hear ever say "true" or "real" rap and they are reffering to everything outside of mainstream, except 90% of them all listen to lil wayne no matter how much crap they talk about him

true story.

After reading the topic, I say let him get the Q and port it. The Q is a very capable driver that can have loads of output. Plenty of excursion and sounds great in a quality box with a decent amplifier. :)

+1 and it rapes the lows... i love it haha.

the BL will have more output but the Q does its fair share and gets lower and sounds better. plus if u ever feel like listening to different music or ur friend wants to listen to something else or maybe ur girl hates rap, then u have a more versatile sub that will sound good with any type of music..

Q FTW!
