It is a common misconception that you NEED the recommended RMS to get a sub to work.

900 watts will be plenty for it.

What are you looking to get out of the setup?

listen to rap and hip hop mostly. want it to be loud, but sound good when it hits the lows too. ive heard 1 12" cerwin vega vmax 122, and bumps by itself, while retaining sq. so i was thinkin of getting 2 to go with the zx750.1(900rms)

I haven't heard the new stuff from CV so I can't say. But I do know the SSD is a great sub.

Depending on the box you put it in, 900 watts could actually be overpowering the speaker. Thermally it will be fine, in fact it will thank you for the less power. The only thing you should have to worry about here (if you don't clip the amp a ton) is the mechanical side of the equation. If you build a box on the smaller side of FI's recommendations, the sub may not quite be playing at its limits. But if you build a box a bit larger than they recommend, you may get full output and possibly even exceed the mechanical limits of the sub with a large enough box. So, as you see, it's all in the box.

Unless you have perfect voltage you won't see that 900 watts ever.
