Posted March 22, 200916 yr As I was making some room in my Jeep to get ready for my big move, I took out the subs and noticed that one of them had the dustcap loose and shreds of paper were in the box! Thankfully, the cone didn't shred. The sub still functions but it looks awful. Oh well, part of the game I guess.

March 22, 200916 yr Author haha, actually, they were in a bandpass (4th order) so no sunlight at all. The dustcap came just a little bit loose before when I had them in my ported enclosure but I guess I didn't fix it all the way. The coils still look great.

May be the kind of glue you used had ill effects on the cone material.
March 23, 200916 yr Author No, it did that same thing last time. It pulled up that layer of paper first time and I just glued that part down. Now it completely came off. Don't know whether to recone it or just glue it down again. I could recone them to larger subs, too.
