I designed a box that is 10cuft@32hz its in a 2000 GMC Jimmy. Is that too much cuft?

How much power will you be sending to it?

It'll lower the power handling, but other than that it's just up to you if you like the way it sounds.

I wouldnt say so if you lower the amount of power going to it.

I have been waiting to see what a Q18 sounds like in that max spec box at 32hz. I really want to see 2 Q15s in a 8cuft box after displacement.

Pics?

As for pic, I'll be posting a build log up wen i get started later today.

Im running around 8 cuft with similar power and haven't ran into any problems.

I had it in about 6 cubes before. I just started cutting the box, I'm almost done cutting now. I decided to go with abouts 8.5 cubes@30Hz.

What options on the sub? Doesnt change things thermally in a larger enclosure, normally just mechanically in that there is a larger air spring behind it and it cant handle quite as much.

Thanks,

Scott

I just have cooling......... I almost have the box done now. Its about 7 cubes after all displacement. Sub on top Port on front, with 1" thick plexiglass window.

It is pretty dumb to build a box smaller to increase mechanical handling. It won't yield any more SPL if both alignments are correct, and just lowers efficiency and increases distortion....

I didn't build it smaller for handling, but because I didn't think I had enough wood.
