Ok so I should have my mli65's tomorrow and I was thinking about using them in some book shelf style speakers I could use with a reciever off of my computer. I plan on matching them up with some sort of tweeter (any ideas?) And doing the top in some thiner laminate with some rod supporting it. Let me say I suck at sketchup and this drawing is not to scale. If I did the math right though it should end up at 4.5' and 28'^2 the whole way 7"x4". Any thoughts comments concerns? Oh and I will be using 1/2" Baltic only because I think anything more will be overkill. I may end up doing a kerf kut or two too in the port area. We'll see. I play things by ear :D

Sq. inches smart ass. You know what I meant :finger:

Actually not quite. Normally a box is given by 3 dimensions all in inches, none squared.

If I did the math right though it should end up at 4.5' and 28'^2 the whole way 7"x4".

Math might be wrong, 28 sq ft is sorta big.

So your box is 4.5"x4"x7"?

*that isn't big enough nor anywhere to scale in the drawing

Ok let me RE-break this down again. Its a total of 4.5FEET long. $inches by 7 inches creating 28 square inches of port area all the way through the 4.5 feet. T-line.

Any reason why you picked the line length for the FS of the driver?

Honestly I have never done a T-line before and that's kind of why I wanted to try one with these. Start with some small ones and then If it turns out good build one with a crummy sub I have laying around for a car. The reason I used the Fs is because I thought that's what you were supposed to tune off of. I am going by the T-line tutorial on another site as far as "instruction". If there is a better way by all means clue me in. I'm here to learn.

where did you get the avatar

Its a secret.

dont know if this will help any but i used .8 tuned a around 45hz with a single 3" port for my bookshelves using the mli's. turned out great.

i didn t know you could successfully use 28sqin of port area for a single 6.5" sub... That's almost the same area as the speaker itself. Won't that cause unloading?
