Posted May 3, 200916 yr I am wanting to know if these numbers are sufficient for a vented enclosure for for a 12" BL. I will have it hooked up to a MTX TA81001 A 1 ohm in the trunk of my 06 Honda Civic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Width: 36"Height: 18"Depth: 15"Port Height: 16.5"Port Width: 2.5"Port Length 1: 11.75"Port Length 2: 6"Total Port Length: 22.25"Port Area: 41.25"Internal Port Volume: 917.8125"Port Volume Displacement: 930.5625"Box Volume: 3.909 cubic ftTuned Frequency: 32 Hz

May 4, 200916 yr you could even go a bit smaller than that if you wanted..but with those dimensions, after sub displacement you should have a nice, low hitting box
May 4, 200916 yr i would go with a bigger port. but that could be just me. my port is 39 sq inches and im at 2.5 cu ft at 34 hz, and i still get a little port noise. so i would go bigger around 40 or so.
May 4, 200916 yr Author fast reply im actually thinking abot augmenting the overall desin to use a roun port couingout the top so i can I have the port fireing through my rear deck, there used to be factory 8" woofer there and it would be perfect.
May 5, 200916 yr i wouldnt do the port firing into the cabin with the sub firing toward to the trunk. i heard it is not a good idea. unless you go bandpass or face the sub towards the cabin and seal the trunk off.but im not a pro. and you can try whatever you want.
