hey quick question can you run the 3000ds daily on a 16-18 volt system. i think jacob 4 3500ds on six 16 volts right, do u think that many batteries would be necessary with just the two 3000ds. also I can turn my voltage up to charge such a system.I see that the 4 channel that sundown makes only runs up to 16 volts will it hurt it at like 16.5 17.5. I figured it would just be cheaper to sell my yellow tops and switch to 16-18 volts and get more power from what I have. but I would also need a four channel that can run on such a system. (if there is one) what does anyone suggest.

I hope you realize that you can't run your whole car on 16-18 volts, you'll need a step-down to 14 for your car's electronics.

Above 16.0 (sixteen point zero) will be bad for your SAX model amps.

You will need to have both a 12v and a 16v system anyway - I run my SAX-50.4 in my Jeep on my 12v system.

But yes, you can run the 3000s on 16v daily (18-19v charging).

I suggest 4-6 Powermaster D1000 16v batteries for two 3000s.

I have two seperate electrical systems running in my car each with there own alternator. Rite now i have 12 volt yellow tops in the rear with my voltage set at 15.5. if i run the 16 volt batteries in the rear, i can turn up my regulater on my alternator for the 16-18v and still have the factory system, also i could run my car on a 16 volt system it is older and no computer the ignition is msd digital 6, they are made for 12 -18v systems. My lights would just be brighter. thanks though.
