I have a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd amplifier and I am looking for a good quality subwoofer. What would be the best 12" subwoofer for me to get for around 1000 watts rms if I am looking for sound quality with decent spl?

I have a bassworx 12" ported subwoofer enclosure that is tuned at 42hz and is about 1.65 cu ft. I want to get an Fi Q 12" subwoofer but the recommended tuned frequency on it is between 28 and 33hz with a recommended minimum volume of 1.75 cu ft. I was wondering how much this would affect my subwoofers performance and its quality?

FI SSD, FI Q would be your best bet.

that Q is going to sound better tuned near the recommended hz. It may be a little louder tuned to 42 hz but it wont sound as good

Will the difference in how good it sounds be really noticable? Because i really don't want to have to buy a whole new box

But i have a ported box that is tuned to 42hz and has a volume of 1.65 cu in where the recommended tuned frequency and volume for the fi q is 28-33hz and a minimum of 1.75 cu in. How much will this affect its performance?

You are best to build the perfect box for the sub to get the best sound out of it, rather than trying to get a sub to fit a specific box............

well you should have put that in your first post then. :bigclap:

it will sound like crap and be very boomy...your box sucks...if you want good sound you must have a good enclosure.

A box tuned that high won't have much SQ. I recommend a new box that's larger and tuned about 10 hz lower.

Where would be the best place to purchase a ported box tuned between 28-33hz (preferably 32hz) that has a minimum volume of 1.75 cu ft?

It seems to be a good and honest answer, but very surprising !!!

I was not expecting this one !!!

try pound that sound they made my box and its the bestbox ive ever had and for a low price and for ur sub get a bl 12 because i have the same amp and it puts out 1328 rms @ 1 ohm and my 15" bl sub knocks dumb hard

He said he wants sound quality. so a bl would be out of the question. i say build a box and buy a q

FI Q

Incriminator Audio Flatlyne

Both awesome SQ subs, Q handles 1000rms, Flatlyne 750rms, but both subs can take more power if you know what your doing!
