So, I go to my 3gupload account which I paid 12 bucks for a year of unlimited downloads and all of a sudden I get this message that says I need to upgrade my account and pay an extra $1.50 for each voice ringtone that I download if I buy it in a big pack. Upon further investigation, I read that they have a deal with Sony/BMG/whatever else where they have to pay them $1 for every CELL PHONE RINGTONE THAT SOMEBODY DOWNLOADS. CELL PHONE RINGTONES! Not some high quality CD media, but a pucking LOW QUALITY 15 SECOND SAMPLE CLIP OF A SONG.

What has this country come to? Nothing but corporate greed and capitalism. More the reason to download my music for free.

Anybody know of a good ringtone site that doesn't charge crazy prices like this?

I dont know of a site, but greed is a deadly sin, and hopefully it will hurt them in the end,

it all comes down to too many hands in the pot and everyone wanting more more more and working less less less

the RIAA is going through the same thing the MPAA went through with DeCSS, and Betamax/VHS before it. Everything old is new again...

Eventually, technology is going to leave them in the dust. Build a better copyright protection system...someone's going to build a better way to get around it. Just the way these things go.

This is where I went after other places went south. If you put $20 on you account, you get like a 70% discount on anything you DL.
