I am currently beginning an installation for my 2002 Ranger super cab. I will be running two BTL 12's in this install. I would like some opinions on this setup. Some people may think im crazy for putting this into a small space. But I live by the rule get loud or go home. Let me know what you all think about how this will turn out and how hard it will be hitting.

If you don't have enough room for 2 12's then don't get them. If you put 12's in enclosures smaller than recommended specs than you'll lose output and will be better off getting the right size subs in their right space requirements.

I have plenty of space. My ranger is a supercab. Its just that a lot of people where I am dont go that big. They say im crazy for putting all that into that amount of space. I actually have plenty of space but no one I know goes that big around here.

I have maximum measurements. Top depth: 17" Bottom Depth: 23" Width: 42" Height: 26". I will be using the maximum 3 cubes for each woofer tuned to about 34 hertz. Alternator, batteries, and wiring used will be stinger. Amplifier being used will be pioneer premier PRS-D2000SPL.

If those measurements are correct you have plenty of space for 2 12's. But instead of the Pioneer Amp I suggest getting a Better amp. Sundown SAZ-2000D. Sundown Amp

Its 2000 watts at 1 ohm.

Edit: Max ratings mean nothing. Look at RMS.

Thanks for the input. I do want to make sure the BTL's get atleast their RMS. I see 2000 RMS in the manual.

Now that I think on it. With that amount of space maybe I will go with the 15's. I am looking at my measurements and the recommended 3-5 cubes for the BTL 15 and wondering how many cubes and tuning I should use for the enclosure. I want to leave enough space to have a small rack for the amplifier. The maximum measurements I have is without having to build a wall. Plans are to upward fire the woofers.

2 15s would fit no problem, im in the middle of putting 2 18" btls in a 89 ext cab ranger...

...2000 Watts RMS x 1 @ 1 Ohm = 1000 Watts RMS Each Driver, And The BTL's Don't Even Wake Up Until 2.5k.

I will go with the 15's. With the budget im working with it will take some time to get it all finished but im determined to get it. I am guessing I will get another PRS-D2000SPL. Not sure what it is but I usually like to keep the brands the same and not have several different brands of equipment. I guess its just me.

Wake up? Whatever. Still Fi's loudest sub even if in the comparison between them all you only give each one 100w. You surely don't "need" 2500 watts, not even close.

Thanks M5. What do you personally think about the 2000 RMS @ 1 ohm? Should that be good for 2 BTL 15's in my ranger? All I had last setup was a 1500w max crunch and 2 type r 12's in a prefab and it shook people around me.

"good" is up to you. It will still be loud...but your motto is "go big or go home" and I wouldn't call that super big. If you want more power though you are going to have to drop some dough to make sure your electrical is up to snuff.

The electrical will be upgraded. Im definitely not even going to try running just one of these amps off the stock electrical. I believe electrical will be upgraded along with a 2nd amp. Stock alternator is only 95 amps so it has to go.

You're Also SQ Biased, And I Know You're Gonna Find A Way To Make That Irrelevant. (In Fact, Kinda Is.)

I Don't Know What I Did To Offend You Or Make You Hate Me, But Whatever It Is, I'm Sorry.

Just Trying To Get The OP To Get The Most Out Of His Equipment, And It Was Just A Statement, Not That He Should Actually Run 2.5kw To Each Driver.

I don't hate you, I just don't agree with the blanket statement you made above. Lots of misinformation occurs around subs like the BTL and it will be effin' loud no matter what you power it with.

I may personally also be an SQ only sort of guy, but that doesn't mean that the logic I lay out for the opposite setup isn't valid. I try hard to not voice only my opinion but instead to help the original poster.

<--Hates When You Type Like This. Way too fucking hard to read. Ghey.
