July 8, 200916 yr i have both my amps (t40001bd and t8004) grounded using a distrobution block ... it goes from two 0 gauge to a single 0 gauge ... the grounds are roughly 5 ft long each and they connect into the single 0 which is a little less than a foot ... is this alright?ground are normally suppose to be under 3ft. unless you have a direct run from the front batteryif you connect it right to the battery how long can they be? (unlimited?)
July 9, 200916 yr Author cant get any hookups lol ... need to order in quanities for small items that are less than like 500 (idk the exact amount) ... found out that it is most likely a power issue ... i checked it with the ipod and getting the same temp as the h/u ... believe it or not grounding to the harness is not the same according to pioneer as the chasis ... that is why they put the fork terminal on the end of the ground ... it obviously makes a difference and it has happened to a lot of people ... i have also put in a sony h/u to test and did not get any noise
July 9, 200916 yr did you ground the sony to the chassie or to the harness? b/c if it is recommenedi i will jsut ground to the chassis from now on.
July 9, 200916 yr yeah i got rid of my pioneer headunit and it was the best thing that happen to me. get a kenwood xcelon, alpine, eclipse, clarion or jvc Edited July 9, 200916 yr by jay-cee
July 9, 200916 yr my next install will be kenwood flip out 7inch monitor excelon! should i ground this one to the chassis or to the harness?
July 9, 200916 yr i will be doing that also! fuxk the harness lol!! killed my damn h/uhey is there is a way to replace that pico fuse? or does it HAVE to be sent in?
July 9, 200916 yr Author i am debating on which double din to buy ... i dont know which one to get as far as features, sound quality, and gps goes ... i am debating between the alpine IVA-W505/P1 or the pioneer avic-z110bt
July 9, 200916 yr go alpine! lol steer clear of pioneers llol haven't you learned your lessson yet? lo!!!!
July 9, 200916 yr Author the pico fuse is the size of an eyelash so good luck and costs something like $200 to have repaired ... you can ground the rcas as a band aid fix and it will get rid of some of the noises
July 9, 200916 yr Author i have heard nothing but good from pioneer accept for this ... the new pioneer is looking very promising with built in ipod sound reconstruction sofware
July 9, 200916 yr well i am not going to be replacing it! plus i already did the band aid fix and i still got the cut lol!!! also it is 80$ to fix by poineer! or that is what i have been reading!!!
July 9, 200916 yr Are you talking about grounding the chassis of the HU or grounding the HU to the vehicle chassis instead of the stock wire harness ground? IF it's the latter, then I apologize as that is what is best. I misunderstood your type.
July 9, 200916 yr i was talking about grounding the H/U to the chassis instead of the wiring harness!
July 9, 200916 yr Why are you talking about your HU when it's your electrical system, or lack of an electrical system that is causing all your problems?

July 9, 200916 yr Author Why are you talking about your HU when it's your electrical system, or lack of an electrical system that is causing all your problems?because we know what the problem is now and now we are just getting off topicwhats the problem?my charging system cannot keep up with the amps ... the voltage drops are causing the amps to work too hard ... also the t40001bd is a unique amp in itself and can get pretty hot according to rockford ... i did testing and the temp is not as bad as i thought at 0 volume (approx 95 on the output side and 91 on the input side) during all tests
