July 10, 200916 yr Not so sure you will gain anything over the Hybrid crossover by swtiching to the amplifiers. Personally I'd upgrade the headunit if active were your goal.
July 10, 200916 yr Author Not so sure you will gain anything over the Hybrid crossover by swtiching to the amplifiers. Personally I'd upgrade the headunit if active were your goal. The HYbrids come with a passive xover. If I go active, I will have to use either an external xover (like the Arc IDX or Audio Control 6XS) or run off the head unit.I thought about switching the HU for the 800PRS. The head unit I have is still in the box brand new. I like it because it has the adaptors for the ipod and USB.Any thoughts on the amp question?
July 10, 200916 yr If you want to go active the 800prs and a 4 channel amplifier will make your system sound WAY better than just using the crossovers on the amplifier.
July 10, 200916 yr It can be done but that is even more money. An all analog crossover won't be any better than the amps. You need the capability of EQ, T/A, and crossover to compete with the 800prs. When you add that the prs has both L&R eq it is really a no brainer.
