Posted August 10, 200916 yr Am running 2 FI 15 inch Q's with BP power on an AQ 2000 watt amp in a 2000 dodge dakota. I upgraded to a high output alternator (230 max output, i had it tested), and i have already completed the big 3 with 1/0 gauge wire. I am presently using a 850 CCA battery in the hood and have no space for a battery inside the truck. I am currently experiencing diming and since am not interested in using a Cap, i was woundering if i took out that battery and replace it with a kinetik 2000 or 2400 watts battery, would that solve the problem? Thanks
August 10, 200916 yr well if i am wrong i am sure someone can correct me. your battery under the hood can only support a 850rms system, but if you were to get a 2000 or 2400 (i would get the 2400) you could support a 2400rms setup!!
August 10, 200916 yr Author 1) Would a 2400 fit under the hood of a dakota? 1) Would you go with a kinetik or batcap battery? Edited August 10, 200916 yr by wof131s
August 10, 200916 yr do not know if it will fit under hood or not. but could try what i am saying below. what about in the bed of the truck you could get a couple battery boxes and relocate it all back there. they sell plastic tool boxes seen some one relocate to one of those before . don't know if you use the bed of the truck all the time for hauling lumber or dirt or not but it's a idea to do it there. they sell relocation kits at summit racing or you can build your own.
August 10, 200916 yr You need the largest battery you can fit under the hood if you can't spare the room for a second.
August 10, 200916 yr Author I have narrowed it down to either the Batcap 3000 or the Kinetik HC 2400. Any suggestions? Thanks
August 12, 200916 yr I have narrowed it down to either the Batcap 3000 or the Kinetik HC 2400. Any suggestions? ThanksKinetik HC 2400 ... batcaps are normally used for burps or quick power unloads.
September 26, 200915 yr Author I found a place under the hood where i would be able to fit a Kinetik 1800 to go along with my 850 CCA battery. Would this be enough to stop the dimming problem Edited September 26, 200915 yr by wof131s
September 27, 200915 yr Any help guys? That should do you justice since you have an ho alternator and stock battery. Since you said you cant fit another battery then go ahead if thats what can fit, buy a voltmeter(if you dont already have one) and watch your voltage.
