Posted August 22, 200916 yr i need to speak with an associate with SSA. i installed my XCONs yesterday and there is a problem with the ohms being too low. i bought 2 dual 1 ohms and its reading .02 on the multi meter. as soon as i put music to them the amp went into protection mode. does anyone have a number to call so i can resolve this quickly. i dont have much patience to wait for emails back and forth. i just wont to send them back so they can correct my problem. thank you
August 22, 200916 yr Admin Can you tell us how they are wired up? .02 is nearly a dead short. Let's figure this out before we start blaming the drivers and spending the money to ship them back and forth.
August 22, 200916 yr all parallel will do that to yaedit: just realized you said .02, not 0.2make sure the dmm is on the right setting for ohms........some have 20, 200 and 2000 Edited August 22, 200916 yr by iamamp3pimp
August 22, 200916 yr Make sure there are no strands of wire that did not go into the terminal connector and are touching each other or the opposite terminal.Next, get an ohm reading on each coil. Should be around 0.7 ohms. How are they wired? If you have all 4 coils in parallel, that is around 0.17 DCR. Sure you wired them correctly?Let us know the results. . .Brian
August 22, 200916 yr Author im pretty sure he tried every possible way to wire them. but i will call and ask as soon as they open up around 10:00. what is the proper way to wire them to get them at 1ohm?
August 22, 200916 yr Admin Here is a wiring diagram. Print this out and take it to your car and match the wires to it. It would be easiest to take all the wires off first then rewire.

August 22, 200916 yr Author its raining right now so ill have to try it later. near the wire connects on the subs there is some brown residue that doesnt rub off. what is that?
August 22, 200916 yr Admin its raining right now so ill have to try it later. near the wire connects on the subs there is some brown residue that doesnt rub off. what is that? What you are seeing is a little excess glue that holds the speaker leads to the wire connects. There is a close up shot on the Xcon page showing it.
August 22, 200916 yr No..the little brown residue is flux that is used during the soldering of the terminals, completely normal.

August 22, 200916 yr Admin Just answered your wiring email questions. Think of it as 6 wires and follow the paths on the diagram above.
