Posted August 31, 200916 yr OK, I was looking at the RE XXX's (newer version), and the Fi BL's. I listen to mostly metal but I do like everything else too. They're going into a Tahoe, so size isn't an issue. I'd like to do 2 12's. I'm looking to get as loud as possible but not sound like total azzz. Powering them would be 2 saz-1500d's or 2 saz-2000d's depending on sub selection. I'm not stuck to those two brands, any input in any direction would be great. Price also isn't much of an issue. Willing to spend as much as $2000 for the subs.
September 2, 200916 yr check out the ssa xcons, i hear they do really well on rock, expecially slipknot drum solos! 2 of those would be extremely loud as well!
September 2, 200916 yr Author Actually, I think I'm going with a pair of DD 3512's run off a Diablo hf 2500.1. I just got my saz 1500d and ordered a 3510 for my work truck.
September 2, 200916 yr Admin You are all over the map in terms of sub woofers. Let's start from the beginning. Can you give us as much info as you can on your goals and needs from this project?
September 2, 200916 yr Author Ok, let's see if I can explain... I want it to get loud, not ear splitting loud but something you feel going through you. I was in a friends Sciracco a few years back, he had 2 Kicker 10's and a Phoenix Gold amp. It hit so hard that it hurt my chest. It was so f'ing tight, that's what I'm searching for. I'm not wanting something that every old person is gonna complain they can hear from miles away. I want quick response for the double bass drums from heavy metal, but at the same time I want to be able to get on it during some electronic bass, wanna be able to feel the lows. The pain in my chest is what I'm searching for. Power? Subs? I will know more about the DD's when I get the 3510 and the saz 1500d in my work truck as to whether or not they are what I'm searching for. But for my personal vehicle I can go bigger and badder to get to that feeling.

Bear in mind, that just bc SQ is what they hoped to achieve, doesnt mean its not going to be loud. My 2 18" Xcons will attest to that.
September 3, 200916 yr i honestly think the xcons are for you....one 12" or 15" on the saz 1500 would be perfect!
September 3, 200916 yr Author I'm looking into them. I'm not finding a lot of specs at the moment though.
September 3, 200916 yr http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/xcon.htmlThat is their new higher power woofer, use the recommended ICON enclosure for the XCON as well, you can go a little bigger too.
September 5, 200916 yr I have a DD 2510, it sounds really good, but nowhere near an SQ sub. I listen to metal as well, and I put in an Opeth cd, the sub picked up everything nicely, and the double bass was very responsive. My $.02
