September 3, 200916 yr Author i try to get 20-40hz tuned all the same... 30-40hz was tuned the same which is what my stereo peaks at. im not sure what you mean by 37v ac...
September 3, 200916 yr i was refering to setting your gain via the use of a dmm. 37volts AC on the sub terminals with no sub hooked up.
September 3, 200916 yr Author i was refering to setting your gain via the use of a dmm. 37volts AC on the sub terminals with no sub hooked up.i dont remember what i set them to, i believe i used just the gains, no bass boost...set them around half way up, 60.5
September 3, 200916 yr well if you set it to 60volt AC at 1.33 ohm you amp is outputting around 2700rms EACH but that number is when you set your gains using a 50-60hz tone
September 3, 200916 yr Author lol thats wat was on the meter...60.5. Theres no way that 2700watts is coming out of those amps lol, at half gain....
September 3, 200916 yr the fuse is fine...thats what im saying.even if it was the fuse that popped, what would have caused that?Over current usually. But if you haven't checked with a DMM, how do you know its fine? You're getting 0v on that power line. Go up the line with the DMM until you have 12v. When you find a spot that has 12v, find out what item past that point is cutting off the voltage.
September 3, 200916 yr lol thats wat was on the meter...60.5. Theres no way that 2700watts is coming out of those amps lol, at half gain....The gain position has nothing to do with how much power comes out of the amplifier. You could have full gain and no output. It all depends on your input power.
September 3, 200916 yr wtf well 60volts AC is nearly 2700rms on a 50-60hz tone and what do you mean "my input is directly from an alpine 9886" do you mean the rca's? i think i just missed something
September 3, 200916 yr Author yes, the input on the amps comes from an Alpine 9886, yes the RCA's...and would it make more sense if the decimal place was moved over so its 6v?
September 3, 200916 yr well where else woudl the rca come from if not the h/u (deck) lol!! also 6volt AC = 90rms lol or lower so no
September 3, 200916 yr Author well where else woudl the rca come from if not the h/u (deck) lol!! also 6volt AC = 90rms lol or lower so noRCA's could be put into an EQ from the deck then out to the amps loland now what the hell lol
September 3, 200916 yr lol ya i guess they could but to use an EQ one would first know how to properly set a gain with a dmm and a 50-60hzz lolnow down to the issue at hand if you set your gains to 60volt ac you would be pushing that amp to nearly 2x its rated power which could blow an amp if your amp did blow. plus i bet you would have clipped the hell out of the amp lol
September 3, 200916 yr Author how would I have pushed the amp that hard? I mean, the ouput RCA's from the Alpine is only 4v....
September 3, 200916 yr no clue but i know when i was playing around wiht my sae1000d amps my gain was pretty damn low and i was pushign around 2000rms at 2ohm lol!
September 3, 200916 yr Author I dont understand though...at first the amp was set very low and my subs were barely moving...I turned it up on both amps to a little under half, and this happens.... lol
September 3, 200916 yr lol i have no clue what happened but like i said try the other power and ground wires from the other amp and see if it turns on and if it does then it isn't an amp issue it is a fuse issue at the distro block. and for gosh sakes set your gain correctly at 37volts AC lol!!
September 3, 200916 yr Author haha yes mom. I'll try the power/grounds tomorrow at lunch and report back....and just out of curiocity, how did you figure out 37v AC?
September 3, 200916 yr how would I have pushed the amp that hard? I mean, the ouput RCA's from the Alpine is only 4v....It has nothing to do with the voltage your putting out the rca's, you have a power problem somewhere within your setup. Personally I think your amp will need more fusing than what you are using.

September 3, 200916 yr with this little chart! there is a forumla but i don't remember it off hand i think it is the square of the rms you want times the impedance
September 3, 200916 yr what he means is put a bigger fuse like 120-150amp fuse in it and go from there. the fuse might not look dead but it could be! lol which is why he suggested to use your dmm on it!
