September 14, 200916 yr fold the back seat down if you can, unless the box is in the backseat. get there a little early and talk to the judges, they usually will just help you and give some pointers. just have fun. do a sweep, and ask them where your peaking at, then run straight tones at that hertz, as in what i did at my first event was ran a sweep, they told im peaking at 41-42 hz, and then the next run i did was just straight 41 hz tone, then 42 hz tone, it raised me up about.2 db from the sweep. also im not sure if you can do this or not with a 4 door, but i tilted my front passenger seat all the way up as if somone was getting into the backseat (2 door) and pointed the sunvisor on the passenger side to help guide the waves, i also noticed that raising the rear seat up to about a 45 deg angle helped the score as well, again im not sure if you can do these things, but they helped me!
September 14, 200916 yr Author thanks alot for the information. i'll go down to my local shop and see if they'll meter me and see where i peak so i can get it in advanced .
September 14, 200916 yr i dont think an ac mic will show you where you peak, but i know a termlab will.so just make sure to ask before paying there 20$ charge or w/e to gain no information.
September 14, 200916 yr Author im pretty sure they have TL meter, if not i'll go do a different shop we have a couple around where i live.
September 14, 200916 yr if you are getting miced with car running, keep the rpm's up, if you got alot of flex somewhere, have the folks in the crowd help brace it, make sure you don't get to into giving demos right before you go into the lanes, so that battery is fully charged. have fun with it is probably the most important
