I'm looking at buying 2 15" Q's with the bp option and just using it for daily driving no competitions. I wasn't sure if it is worth paying more money for the SAZ-3000D or if the AQ2200D is just as good of a fit for my application. I have been through a lot of bad amps and want to go with a good quality and very reliable amp that I won't be afraid it will break after a year of use. I don't know if anyone has or heard a setup like this with either amp but any input would be greatly appreciated.

The 3k could possibly be too much power for the Qs. Everything Ive seen states with the BP option they're still only around 1200w RMS. You could stick with sundown and run a 2000D.

Why are you looking to run that much power to a "Fi-Q". With your choice in amplifiers your looking for loud! Look into the BL or BTL.

on a side note.. proper installation shouldnt allow an amp to die within a year...

Even one of the cheapest popular amps out there, the Audiopipe AP30001D can last a long time with proper installation and good electrical system.

I am looking for sq thats why im going with the Q. I have upgraded my electrical system with all knukonceptz flex 1/0 wire and put in a 200 amp h/o alternator and a yellow top optima but when i had the new hifonics bxi 2010d amp installed for about 5 months it broke so I had to warranty it out and the new one they sent me had a piece moving around inside and it still worked but I've had the new one for a couple months now and I'm just afraid that its going to break again. I am going to put the Q's in a sealed box so the AQ2200D should be a pretty good fit for them right? I was more worried about the fact of the AQ2200D being a good amp that I shouldn't have any problems with. I've heard a lot of good things about sundown and thats why I was looking into that.

where did you have the hifonics amp mounted?

Why not the Sundown SAZ-2000d, on the proper electrical it can put out more than rated power. Get the Sundown FTW.

Aq 2200. Excellent amps. Heard 2 15q's off of one and it slammed hard.

And I am guessing the Hifo was mounted on or very near your box.... need to change the location if thats the case/

To me that just explains there quality right there, a new amp already faulty and not location in my opinion.

i wouldnt think so quickly...

When i first tried AQ for amps, one of the 2 i got was damaged due to some shipping problem.

company can't control that.

As having experience with such scenario, i'd prefer to only purchase amps from companies that will honor warranty claims.

I had it mounted on my back seats. I had 4 12" kicker cvrs and it rocked my trunk pretty good but the amp had a piece moving around in it when I took it out of the package and the first amp just stopped working without a protection light or anything coming on. I don't think location is my problem and my electrical system should've had no problems running that amp. I am ready to get what I pay for and if that means I have to spend twice as much and get a sundown 2000d then i will but if the aq2200d is just as good then I would rather get that but then I'm getting back to getting something cheap. I am just really curious on how good of amps these really are.

i may be wrong here but ti sounds like the amp was a victim of being installed in a loading area...

That may of had more vibrations there than on the box itself if built well!

If installing your subs and amp in the trunk, mount your amp(s) behind the firing direction or on the box with sound suppression material.

I had my seats down at all timesand the subs were firing away from the back seats. I just need to figure out why its happening so I don't have anymore problems. If it is the amp then I am open to suggestions of good amps to look into. I was told to look at Audio Que and Sundown has always had a good reputation but I wasn't ever willing to pay that price but if thats what I need to do then I will do it.

hmm, that shouldnt have been a problem... i can only speculate..

I can tell you to allows put something in between the feet and the base the amp will sit on to help prevent vibration damage. this is what i've always done, even on boxes and never have had a problem.

what is good to use for that?, i have a buddy that has his amp mounted to his box but between the feet of amp and box he has like 1" rubber bumpers of some sort and hes had no problems after almost 2 years

rubber is the cheapest i know of. Just go to Lowes and stuff bunch of rubber washers underneath there.
