September 30, 200915 yr Nobody complains about there equipment and my epic center-160 is a good device to have but in the wrong hands it can do some damage. Everything is gonna have its pros and cons, you just need to find out whats right for you. What do you feel is lacking in your system, what else are you trying to achieve? How is your system not cutting it for you? Those type of questions need to be answered, did you read all the information on the devices you are interested in(when you do then come back with questions about that product and the advantage or disadvantage it could have in your set-up)?
September 30, 200915 yr Author i feel like my bass is lacking lows i do spl competitions and i want the loudest clearest bass possible to hit the highest number on the meeter i also dont have a amp for my speaker i wil b getting one soon so im hoping that the very detailed equalizer will be able to get me hitting hard but very clear, ive heard audio control was very respected company, and i want a good product

An epic-160 does add some intense low notes I just dont know how it will do with a fairly high tuned box, only used one on boxes tuned to the 30's so I cant comment (I think it should still do the same trick as you can adjust the frequency range). If all you want is some extra lows withouth buildind a new box then the Epic-160 may be for you. the only problem is on real intense bass songs it can cause over excursion in your subwoofers.
October 1, 200915 yr Admin AudioControl is an excellent product and a very good company. The Epicenter is no longer needed, and you need to make sure your amplifiers can take the brunt of the signal strength of the Matrix. Their digital processing is quite nice.
October 1, 200915 yr without a problem it is impossible to answer, maximize bass isn't related to what proc you use
October 1, 200915 yr Been using Audio Control for over 15 yrs and though I had a break from them a while back, I'm once again using them. Their products are top notch and their customer support, though a bit rough around the edges, took care of the repair issue at hand. It was my fault, I shorted out the grounding trace in my DQS when a live speaker wire grounded out to the chassis of the truck.

But that is no longer is an issue with modern recordings, so it only adds distortion now.

October 1, 200915 yr Author It might be better suited to upgrade the head unit first.i paid 1000 bucks for my headunit its a clarion touch screen with bluetooth and everything, i would rather get the matrx, another thing is on the audio control site is has a diagram saying what you should buy for maximum spl set-up, and it goes epicenter, eqx, matrix, that wouldnt b a good set-up , im new to spl, im juts starting to get the hang of it a lil but this is my first time ever looking at this type of equipment

And wow, $1k an only 2 volts........ Anyway, if your head unit has no crossovers or EQ and your amplifiers have no crossovers, then the EQX is a possibility. The Matrix is a nice unit, but you have to find out if your amps will accept nearly 8 volts of signal. I am not at all saying their products are not good, just you have to understand they want people to buy as much of their product as possible. We could do the same thing and tell people they must buy 4 SSA Xcon 18's for maximum SPL, totally disregarding what all they have in their system or their actual needs.

October 1, 200915 yr Now I remember we talked about this on another topic, you need to get a new head-unit(you already wasted money just to get something for show but lacks performance). So now you want to waste some more money on something that may not help you out in the end or work the way you want it too. You should get a headunit with a pre-out voltage of 4 or more, sell the old one (thats the first step). If you want to truly get your system to where you want it. I told you that in the previous topic about this, a new head-unit will be your best bet right now.
October 2, 200915 yr Hold on. Who cares about 2v. Can you set your amp gains to appropriate output with no clipping? If so gaining on the input versus using the amplifier won't really gain you anything audible. If you are chasing tenths then you should let us know that.
