Posted October 16, 200915 yr Been working with a lot of split coil stuff lately with SG3 (Supergauss 3 for those who don't know) and some Industrial applications..thought some of you would like to see some really big off the wall cool stuff that we do that you simply do not see anywhere else...The coil on the right is the original 4" XMX...the one on the left is a 3" coil that we are using for an industrial application. The quarter is in the picture for a size reference...Just another way we march to the beat of our own drum... Just another good Friday! Have a great weekend!
October 16, 200915 yr there's a pic of their supergauss motor(s) floating around somewhere...looks pretty innovative imo
October 16, 200915 yr Split coil makes me think "two magnets?" Either way, sounds nifty! Can be either two motors or just split coil within one motor. But the voice coils are much smaller if in only one motor. My guess is something similar to the supergauss?
October 20, 200915 yr Found this on the net. A little more complicated for my liking. A good explanation of whats going on though. http://www.codrive.com/basstr.htm
October 21, 200915 yr I think it's cool in the aspect of the potential these types of designs can have, but the mounting depth is a little ridiculous. just curious, what type of commercial application could this be used in?
