Posted November 10, 200915 yr I am starting this thread because I am not prepared for the big build, so I am looking for ideas. Yes I said it I am looking for "Ideas." I am new on here and I know some things, but not all. So as an effort to show how humble I am when it comes to learning something I am interested in, I would like to start from scratch. I am searching other threads, youtube, etc on builds, terms, etc, but it wouldnt hurt for you all to throw me some ideas. I have my own ideas, but I would like to review different avenues to make sure I will be satistied with my build. I would like to give display my pictures, and my current equipment. Currently I am thinking about walling my subs off. I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban 4wd (so I have a lot of space). Here is my equipment. My other thread was deleted for the post dumping, and unnecessary comments. Please help me be productive. I know this will cost money and I will be paying the price so please let me know of any sales going on and hook ups. November 10, 200915 yr Yea you got alot of space in the boat. LOL suburbans are huge.Do the front stage right. nice mids and highs to keep up with the subs.I've seen that video that Meade did and yes it did save space. but he has a tahoe and you have a suburban. you have alot more space that he does. no need to drill that huge hole in your floorkeep us posted on this one. this should be interesting.
November 10, 200915 yr (4) 18's should bang. Do you have space for (4) 21's? That would be crazy......
November 10, 200915 yr looking like a good start .............. 4 18" BTL's + a suburban = FTW !!!!chop
November 10, 200915 yr I agree that you shouldn't need to butcher the floor up as long as you do a lot of planning. I'm sure someone here has either worked on a suburban or seen one and will give you some helpful info.
November 11, 200915 yr Better ways to find space for a battery rack unless you really want to take up that whole back area for the enclosure, just my .02.
November 13, 200915 yr Author Day 2 and I already have arthritis( spell check must have agreed) Man I had to start over on the door installation. I put the bracket on the door and I measured it before, but when I tried to shut the door it was a little off so I had to shorten the back braces from 2 inches to 1 inch. It may seem like a small correction, but if you have ever done this before you would know that cutting wood sucks. lol I may start the fiberglassing tomorrow, or Monday. Whooooo this was tiring. I see why labor for this is so high.
