All of these would be powered off a Sundown SAZ-2000d in 4.5 cubes tuned to 33hz. Was just curious about this because I'd like to eventually get an SUV and would like to do one of these setups. I know this is a matter of opinion, but I'd like to see how many opinions lead more towards what out of curiousity.

RE Audio MX 15

DC Level 4XL 15

SSA Xcon 15

Well first of all the SSA Xcon doesnt even belong on that list, not saying it wont get loud just designed for a different crowd. But since you want loud go with either the Re or DC but its a toss up man, just purchase one and test and then do the same for all three. That way you will know which is the loudest in your car, in your istall (since installs, equipment and cars are different); what may be louder in someones car may not be louder in your car.

the RE Audio MX in meant to moves some major air. the surround and excursion of that thing is massive

Can't give an opinion on the DC L4xl because i've never heard one personally. But ive seen them in action on vids and haven't heard anything bad about them

SPL wise the DC would probably be the loudest. the Xcon would most likely perform similar to the MX, but for a lot less money. The Xcon is a great daily ground pounder, and the SPL difference will only be seen on a meter, not audibly.

Maybe I'd test all 3 if I had a Money tree lol j/p

Im pretty sure if everybody had a money tree, there wouldnt be these useless whats louder threads because then everyone could do their own testing and know whats the loudest in their setup. Well I was just giving you the appropriate information to know which sub will be louder, nobody can tell you which one will be louder but since the DC Level 4L is more geared towards SPL so it should have the potential to get louder (it depends).

I understand. I was comparing them because each of their sites states that their RMS is 1500 watts. The Icon can get plenty loud, so I figured the Xcon would be comparable to those. I didn't think the MX or Level 4XL were SPL geared, I always thought the MT was RE's spl sub and the Level 5 was DC's, I could be wrong though.

The Xcon is brutally loud in the right install. But it is not an SPL-biased sub like those others.

Id say the DC would be the loudest. Give me a money tree and I'll find out for you. :P
