Bought my sub second hand and need a recone. How do I tell the difference between '08 & '09 BL models. I have a 15".

Motor Structure, Look For One On Google Image Search And Then Look At The One On Fi's Website.

The new motor is 220mm in diameter, the old one is 190mm in diameter.

If the voice coil didn't match up according to year would the sub still work. '09 recone on a '08 motor. Please tell me yes!

recones just change the softparts of the sub. it doesnt change the motor.

if you had an 08 bl and got a recone it would be fine.

so its about 8.660" for the new and about 7.48" for the old style. just grab a tape measure and find out.... if its around 8 1/2" around then its the 09 or newer and if its about 7 1/2" around then its the old style.

New ones have a rebate in the backplate for a sticker...most new ones have the hyperpole option as well. The old BL's pole didn't extend too much out of the gap. The new pole is much taller as well..
