December 15, 200915 yr Author i want to use of RL P18 for db drag and 200litr vented box and tuning 39hz .is it possible to supply 2000w for it.?is the voice coil tolerate this 2000w power in 2 minute.? amplifier subsonic filter is set in 25 HZ ,24db/octnow i get 1500w to my subwoofer(soundstream ref R1 15)it tolerate 1500w for 4 minute in spite of xmax is 12.7 mm.is voice coil rlp18 stronger than soundstream ref r1 15?
December 16, 200915 yr I think the RL-P18 is a sound quality woofer.Maybe you shouldn't think and type. The RL-p is a great woofer and will work in many different applications. It really depends on your goals.Burping one is possible, but that will require a serious understanding of the box and frequency to really determine the power handling in that scenario.

December 16, 200915 yr It's not a comp sub by any means, but it can get very loud. I've put up some big numbers with mikes subs.

December 17, 200915 yr Author rl p18 in 220 liter vented box and freq tuning 40 and 2000w :(high pass=25hz ,24db/oct)My linkI think that rl p18 is apropriate for SPL.

IMO anyone doing any sort of SPL should first really figure out how a program like WinISD works. Not that it is the gospel, but it will sure help you understand output versus tuning versus excursion which is a pre-requisite for building any burp box.
