Based on your equipment list your pretty serious about your audio, so why are you even THINKING about listening to that guy? Your just asking for a short.

Fusing your power wire isn't necessary in the sense that it will work with out but its strongly recommended because it will prevent a major short so you should go with your gut and fuse.

Also just out of curiosity with all that electrical what kind of equipment are you running?

X2.

Always fuse. If you can't, find someway to! I couldn't find a decent fuse holder, so I got a trolling motor circuit breaker from my dad. Just as good as a fuse, except everytime the circuit breaks, you just shut the car off and baboom; good to go! Don't have to replace fuses...

Fuse! One of the main reasons to fuse is to prevent a short, especially if your in an accident!

awesome point. same with the 18 inch or less rule to. by the way why are you listing to that guy who told you not to run fuses he knows nothing about electrical.

Make sure that that alternator wire fuse is big enough or if you blow that fuse during a drive and don't have backup fuses then you won't get any charging power from the alternator. Also, why fuse the alternator wire and not the wire between the batteries? They are still power wires. If a short was to happen, you could burn your car down.

I'd like to hear what else you had done that was a result from your friend. We can help you figure out if something is right or not.
