After a couple minutes of start up, my computer makes sort of a grinding sound. The constant 'hum' is still there. It's coming from toward the back (grinding) - you can barely hear it at times, but it'll get louder and you can notice it.

I solved it for a few minutes before by beating on the desk. I don't know if this is a problem, but it is just annoying.

It's been doing this for about a week now, and as soon as I beat the desk again and post something about it .... it stops. Go figure.

We'll see.

EDIT ~ Ha! Couple minutes later and it's back. Piece of chit.

Open up the case and inspect all of the fans. Maybe your cpu heatsink fan is grinding on the heatsink.
