So my battery died yesterday cuz my friend left a light on in it. Its parked in my driveway which is on the main street of my town and i can't push it back anyways cuz of the snow. Would I be able to take my battery out and charge it with a friends running car? I don't see how this wouldn't work but just want to make sure before i make anything worse, gotta work tonight.

you would probably be better off going out and getting a battery charger...i have never heard anybody do this but it might be possible bc its basically jump startin

Its never good to put an uncharged battery on an alternator from my understanding.

The battery might not be able to withstand the cold. Try putting someone elses batt in your car the driving it home till you can get a new one or take it to get it tested which they do for free at autozone.

Also check the fluid level in the battery.

yes there's nothing wrong with you putting your dead battery in your friends car to charge it, as long as his car is running and doesn't shut off when he's taking his battery out.

do NOT try and charge a dead battery with an alternator, that's never suggested.

The easiest and cheapest way would be to take it to autozone and have them charge it for you for free.

Continuous high current charging from any alternator can kill it.

also, depending on where you live, if it is completely dead, do not charge it at or below freezing.
