are u still taking pre orders on them? how is the sound quality and out put with them tuned low 28-30? thinking about selling my IDQ15s and kicker zx1000.1 and going with either 2 sa-8s or 2 ssa dcons. either way i go i would like to get a sae 1200 to power them. like the idea of running 8s to show ppl wat they can do. front stage is going to be ID ctx65cs powered by a sax 50.4 bridged

that should be the end of february right? are these more spl or sound quality oriented?

i really dont know much about them...search on here for info, just go through the sundown pages...i believe jacob did over 150 dbs with just 1 but i could be mistaken.

The presale ends the day he gets them, he estimates the end of February.

So far in my testing... I've gotten 149.0 dB from my pair of SA-8s @ 53 Hz in my Jeep.

New box layout that I've never tested before... sub forward / port back :)

That was with a 3500D at 1/2 ohm.

yea i knew it was somewhere around there. rediculous.

The design is very similar to the other size SA drivers -- which people love the sound of. They will sound quite good.

Tuned that low will yield a very deep response.

cool.. hopefully i can get my IDQs and kicker sold.. would like to get 2 8s and probly a refurbished sae 1200 from db-r electronics.. are the 1200s underrated?

  • Author

The 1200s can do 1500+

would 2 8s handle that much power or should i go with a 1000d?

  • Author

If you are at least somewhat responsible with them they will be fine.

think i should beable to be somewawhat responsible!

this will be the my first stereo, will this be a good amp kit:

0 GAUGE DUAL AMP POWER KIT

with a sae 1200 and sax 50.4 what size fuses will i need to get with this amp kit?

Sean has done some in his CRX -- he is quite happy with it.

u have any links to his builds?

Not yet -- the only stuff we have shown from his CRX so far was the high tuned box.

Today we will gather some information from the low tuned box.

awesome video.. gunna do any testing at around 28-30hz? since i listen to mostly rock/metal thats where i should tune to right?

We cannot fit a port in Sean's vehicle to tune that low -- so no you won't see 28-30 Hz tuning in there.

You can tune to 35 and be more than good for rock / metal.

oh... pretty much everyone that ive talked to said to go sealed or 28-32 for rock/ metal

I'm not sure what kind of rock/metal they listen to... but almost nothing actually drops down to 30 Hz. Most notes that sound low are closer to 40 Hz.
