I recently hooked up 2 Fi BL 10's to a pdx 1.1000 connected to the battery by 4 gauge wire. Within ten minutes of playing i had blown the fuse coming from the battery to the amp. I was wondering if attempting to run this setup off 4 gauge wiring is hindering the ability of the system and if it would be beneficial to up the wire to a 0 gauge. Thanks in advance for the help

The fuse was a 10GA stinger fuse, switched to a 25A raptor ANL fuse & holder after burning the fuse. I switched because the stinger fuses were too spendy.

it'd probably be a better idea to use 1/0.

and you were only using a 10amp fuse before?

Im not too knowledgeable about fuses but the car audio place took a look at it and said it was a 100amp fuse, so from 100 to 250 amperage

are you running any other amps?

I'd go up to 1/0. That's a lot for 4 gauge wire imo.

What impedance are the subs and how do you have them wired?

When I had my PDX 1000 I ran 4 gauge with several woofers, Type X. 12W7, 13W7 never had a problem. That amp has 4 of 25 amp fuses and so the recommended fuse should have been 100. Maybe your speaker wires are wired wrong.
