Im Going to be powering my 15"BL with a MTX 1501D Thunder elite at 1ohm

# RMS Power Rating:

* 4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan.

* 2 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan.

* 1 ohm: 1500 watts x 1 chan.

# Max power output: 3000 watts x 1 chan.

the sub will be in a ported 4 cu ft box tuned to 33hz.

Do you think this will handle my daily dose of rap music?

I dont see why not, max power means nothing but yeah that amp will work.
