Posted February 23, 201015 yr First my previous system was;(2) 12 inch Powerbase Extreme Subwoofers (About 800 Watts RMS Each)(1) Elemental Designs NINe.1 amp (1200 RMS at 14v)I sold my turbo g35 and now have a 2006 Dodge Charger (Ya it has a hemi ) I listen to Rap, Hip Hop, and R&B. I always love deep bass, my previous subs went deep on a couple songs. Higher bass tones are always great too.I was wondering what you guys think I would be happier with or what would be louder;1 15 inch fully loaded Fi BTLor2 12 inch Fi SSD'sAs for an amp what do you guys suggest. I think 1500 - 1800 RMS would be good enough for me. I really dont want to upgrade electrical in my car, just do the big 3. Budget for a amp - I hope to stay below or at $400!!
February 23, 201015 yr Author There is no replacement for displacement.Thats what I was thinking. 2 12's so far......
February 23, 201015 yr There are many reasons I chose the 2 12's in a trunk route. What are these many reasons, got me thinking of why I should go back to 2-12"s instead of one 15".
February 23, 201015 yr I've never listened to a ssd. I didn't think 2 12" ssd could be in the same league as one 15" BTL !I'd go with the btl (the bigger, the better!!!) and a Sundown saz 1500 or 2000d. It may be difficult to find a 2000d for $400. Who knows? But there are lots of subs in the market.
February 23, 201015 yr He said he didn't want to upgrade his electrical so your wrong, a BTL should not be recommended

February 24, 201015 yr Author He said he didn't want to upgrade his electrical so your wrong, a BTL should not be recommendeddaaaaaamnn a single 15 BTL will make me upgrade?? Not good lol. Guess I will have to stick with SSD's and hope it beats my previous system.

Only a bigger amplifier will do so !If you just want to run your btl with 1500 - 2000 watts, you should be fine with the big3 and a secondary battery. If I listen to M&Cheese I may be wrong. From btl to ssd ? There are other FI sub between these 2.2 12" Icon on a 1500-2000 watts amp should be dam good too!!! : there goes my vote !
February 24, 201015 yr Admin The BTL, since it is a speaker and speakers do what they are told, does not require any electrical upgrade. What would is the amount of power that is desired to be fed into the BTL. It will be the loudest, all things being equal, off the same power, even if that is less then 1000 watts. There is no law that says the BTL needs 2000 watts of power.

Your gonna need to make electrical upgrades regardless unless you run under 1000 watts or so, so if you dont want to do any electrical upgrades you may just need one SSD depending on your factory alternator size.

February 24, 201015 yr Like I said depending on your alternator, what size alternator was in the G35 and where was your voltage sitting at when playing music?
February 24, 201015 yr Author Like I said depending on your alternator, what size alternator was in the G35 and where was your voltage sitting at when playing music? No idea that was a while ago. It was sitting in the 13's. Ya, I have a feeling my Charger will not do as well. I will just get a 2nd battery I guess along with the big 3 upgrade.

Look at the chart and see what fits the stock location:I Have a XXXXXXX watt sytem. What battery do I need? - SSA Car Audio Forum
