Either would be a 15." The setup is going into a Dakota ext. cab. Ive got my electrical upgrades (200 amp alternator, extra battery, and big 3 done with double runs of 0 ga.) and sound deadening is completed. Ill be powering either driver with a AQ 2200 (Gain will be set accordingly). I listen mostly to 90% reggae music, 5% rap, and another 5% with a mix of others. Am wanting a setup that is very musical, and can get loud when needed. But dont get me wrong, am not looking for an all out SQ setup, but i do like to sound good. The enclosure will be constructed around whatever driver is selected, hopefully by this weekend. Both are in the $500 range give or take a few bucks so that part of the equation is done. Am really leaning more to low-end bass because of the bass guitar that I love and is used heavily in reggae music. I would really like to make a purchase by the end of the week or any information would be great.

Thanks

I'll say it just like I did on ca.

My DP's sound great imo, and get loud. Or they did until I gutted my car lol. I've heard some DD subs, they got loud, but I didn't really like the sound. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the setup, and my personal opinion though.....The DP would be more comparable to the 9500 though.

A lot of it is going to come down to installation.....But still, IA ftw lol.

PLUS: You can get the DP's here at the SSA store. ;)

I honestly wouldnt say its fair to compare the DP and the 3500, the DP to me should be compared to the 9500. I would have to say the DP should get a little louder and sound better doing.

If the DP and 9500 are more similar drivers, which would outperform the other in their optimum enclosures.

Thanks

I would go with the DP, just my .02.

honestly, i dont think youd notice a mega DB gain but i like the DP because you can tune it different and DD's just have a different sound to me that i dont like.

Toss a coin! Both are well built drivers with insane amounts of output in the optimum enclosure.

I agree with you on this one. A guy at work that i didnt even know had a setup in his car gave me a demo of his DD setup (2 12" 9500) on an Audiopipe. It was loud as hell (enough to give me a headach), but the "SQ" was nothing to talk about, and thats not what am looking for. I need a woofer that can do both, and from what ive read on both subs it seems that ill be getting a 15" DP here in the near future.

Thanks for the input guys.

NEVER blame the drivers, always blame the install. Most people SUCK at installing anything.

That being said, I personally have NO interest in the 9500 as it fits a niche that I don't partake in and doesn't do anything well that I'd need it to.

Good choice on the IA DP!

Thanks
