Hey Everyone, I will be starting a build log soon on my 89 Mustang Coupe.

plan on taking out the rear seat and making a 2 chamber box for 2 15's BTL's

Judging from these pics give me some opinions of how i should face the subs.

And as well as any opinions!

Thanx !

Build Log will start soon :)

that will be real tight, since the lowest you should go with 2 15"s is 6 cubes w/o sub displacement or port, or you could wall it and make things more interesting :)

Cant Do a Wall since itll be my daily driver And rear View Mirror Will Be Needed :)

I highly doubt you will be able to throw 2-15" BTL's in there respected enclosures in that trunk.

aw chit, I thought this would be about tapping some tight virgin azz... :(

way out of line.

well, you could throw a ton of power at them to make up for the smaller box

No, bad idea. Instead buy subs that fit the box you can build.

smaller box= more power handling correct?

i know going that route would be less "efficient"

And the only reason you'd want more power handling is so that you can brag about the power you are running. Personally I'd instead focus on getting the most out of your system for your goals and a smaller box and more power won't reach those. A proper box is step one, buying a sub that fits in it is step two. NEVER the other way around.

Well At First I Said To Myself, With 2 15"s Replacing The Rear Seat, The Box Will Be A Little Small But Close To The Cubic Space Of What Is Needed. And Throwing 3000 Watts At Them Will Make Up,

But Now Im Pushing More Toward 1 15" BTL And Using Passive Radiator As The Port.

That Wat Ill Have Enough Cubes. ?

IMO PR's would be a bad idea for a high output system due to the displacement requirements.

Rearview mirrors are over rated. :drink40:

yeah mine always break off

For real, mine does too. With that BTL it will probably fall off anyways, just wall it. :fing34:

Measurements For The Space I Have To Work With Are As Followed....

Height - 20"

Depth - 26"

Width - 49"

What do you guys think

i used a box calculation program off a website and if i remember right its somewhere between 10-11 cubes before port and sub displacement.

So i should be starting soon.

Just need a Box design.

Thats about 14 cubes gross. I think it could work using those dimensions, but you have to have space for amp(s) and batterie(s). IMO you would be fine but i'm no expert.

Make a semi wall, with subs in the trunk facing the back seats. But it will probably be too small!!!peepwall.gif

Just take off the backseats!fing34.gif

Yeah, my plan is to take out the back seat and make somewhat a half wall.

batteries and amps in the trunk ;)

This is Les Young's mustang coupe, pics from "Auto Sound and Security" September 2001 issue. Sorry the pics suck (my printer/scanner is screwed), but could give you some ideas. He's got 2- 18" Id subs ( custom made ) in what looks like a sealed enclosure in the back seat/trunk of his coupe running off a tube driver 1500 amp in the trunk.gallery_11963_390_1615931.jpg,gallery_11963_390_17970.jpg
