First off, hi...i just joined...

I'm a complete audio noob...

I'm looking to build a console/sub box for my 2007 Silverado...

Its a reg cab with hardly any space behind the seats...so i want to take out my jump seat and build something...

Here are the plans i sketched up...

I basically want it to extend all the way to the dash...

have a cup holder...

and have the sub in the back, out of sight....

I will put a arm pad on top to rest my elbow...

I'm not trying to beat this box out the frame or have a super loud setup....

I'm looking for looks/functionality/and bass to complete my setup......

Any criticism is appreciated....any thoughts or ideas let me know.....

I don't know how to wire it so i don't know if i need to install a terminal or what....

I also am undecided on what brand sub/amp...i am a complete noob......

Thanks for looking...im about to check out the site further..

Thanks!

:wavey5: and nice set of plans you have there.

what is your budget as well as what M5 said

I have a build log doing almost exactly what you are trying to build. It's under SQ_MGB 02 Silverado Reg cab, feel free to use it for ideas. My box is 13.25" wide, 14.50" tall, and 27.5" deep, outside dimensions. The port extends from the back wall to under the dash and is 3" of the overall height. I have approximately 1.87 cu. ft. before displacement of the woofer, port is external to the box. If you go sealed, you can get over 2 cu.ft. and put darn near anything you want in there. There is another member (6APPEAL) on here with a box similar to what you drew up with his sub downfired and it sounds pretty good to me. I'm sure there are others as well.

Here's one of the pics of mine....

Be sure to make a build log so we can follow your progress. Good luck, I'm sure it will turn out great!

Should be a nice build! GL with it all. And welcome to the site by the way!

Great idea, should work well.

Before shopping for a sub, knowing the internal volume of the box would be a must. :)

I am a complete noob, how do i figure out the internal volume of the box....?

Is that some kind of measurement like L x W x H or something.....?

Thanks man!

My budget for the sub is around $150- $200...and then ill need an amp also...

I will buy all the MDF and dad will help build the box..friend will help wire it up...

So i wont be wasting money on wiring/box building that a shop would charge...

Should be a nice build! GL with it all. And welcome to the site by the way!

Thanks!

I'm guessing your going to make a sealed box? Take some measurements and we can tell you the volume your working with
