I'm going to order a BTL 18 1-ohm after I order a T1500-1bd. I was planning on getting all the options, daily, and universal. I was just wondering if there's any downside to getting the universal option.

you would have to get a recone to change the VC config. but that can still be looked at as better than buying a whole new sub, so its not really a downside i dont know of any. might as well just in case. and its free!

The universal option machines the gap for D2 ohm coils. When using a D1 coil in a D2 gap you will loose a little bit of motor strength, but not anything to worry about when using the sub in a daily application. If you were competing seriously you'd want every last bit you can get.
