Posted April 3, 201015 yr okay so i know this might be a noob question but hey im a noob lol.so i want to run 2 runs of 0 guage power to my amp, but they amp only has one input so can i take a normal distribution block and put the two power wires from the battery up front into the the usual out spots and put one run from the amplifier to the input of the block?i will also run 2 runs of ground if i can, i just want to make sure i get as much power to my amp as i can even know i know its over kill.hopefully i can upload this right but here is a picture to help explain what i mean. April 4, 201015 yr pay no attention to the input\output section of a distribution block. That's just for reference for their view of how it may be used.the entire block is conductive so it doesnt matter which side is the input.

I think the only reason to turn two runs into one at the amp would be if the runs were so long that there was substantially increased resistance, which on any normal car audio run, there shouldn't be. Or maybe if you were using multiple batteries, but in that case I think you should hook the batteries in series.

Or maybe if you were using multiple batteries, but in that case I think you should hook the batteries in series.wtf??? ya lets not hook 2-12v batteries in series and not feed the amp 24vdc lol!! try hooking them in parrellel unless you are hooking 2-6vdc batteries in series!also if you have 1/0 going into the amp make sure you have 1/0 going out of the amp!! theere was a guy on here who wanted to do 1/0 in and 4awg out b/c he didn'thave enough 1/0 for a ground lol!!! some ppl kids! jsut making sure you don't do this.
April 4, 201015 yr WAOAADasdfndslkfnfyou wnat to put 2-runs of 1/0 into an amp via a distro block....what amp and how much current is it going to pull?remember 1/0 has a current limitation of 300amps~ if the amp pulls more then 300amps though the SINGLE input you run the risk of heating up and potentially melting the jacket..so i ask again what amp? and is it needed to have more then 1 input? notice on amps that are 5k plus have multi 1/0 input right b/c they can pull more then 300amps of currnet at a given time so for them it is a safely thing...does yoru amp REALLY need 2 runs?also keep in mind ppl who do multi inputs normally have something liek thisor notice how it is a solid piece of alum or copper going into the amp rather then a piece of wire!! also shizzzon is building something like this if you are interested and pretty cheaply also!
April 4, 201015 yr and you do relieze that 12volts and 300 amps is about 3600rms right? and 14volts and 300amps is 4200so how much output is your amp going to be able to output/

I know I've used similar adapters in industrial electricity. Try an electrical wholesale.
April 5, 201015 yr I would install a fuse within 18 inches from the battery (before the dist. block) and another within 18 inches of the amp (between the dist. block and the amp) I would use the same size or larger (setup) cable for the grounds. remember dc voltage path travel ?? plus, it should just look cool. All those little electric molecules don't care what they flow through
