Instead of cutting a hole for a terminal cup I plan on running a 1/4 inch or so bolt through the side of my sub box.

My question is, what type of bolt would be best for power/signal transfer?

-Standard Steel

-Stainless Steel

-Brass

-Aluminum

-Chrome

-Grade 8 Steel

-Copper (not sure I can find it)

There is just so many options and I don't know what to choose.

Thanks All :)

Do you want to spend on the money on it for the best? I will say anything on your list will do, but I wouldn't use the steel.

Money's not an issue. It's just a couple bolts :) Just looking for the best

Your best connection would come from running a wire straight to it from a little hole in the side. But not as removable then. But yes a copper bolt would be the best bet from your list.

I just use some stainless steel bolts I had laying around. Over the course of 1 inch, the resistance will be negligible between copper and steel.

I got stainless steel for corrosion resistance, and the nice finish. I'll post pics when installed.

2 - 2" #10/24 Stainless Steel Bolts

6 - #10/24 SS Lock Nuts

4 - #10 SS Washers

4 - #8 Gauge Compression Terminals

I'm running 10 gauge speaker wire, but speaker wire is generally larger than standard power wire, hence the 8 gauge compression terminals.

Thanks for the input guys
