Posted July 28, 200520 yr if i bought a 12" rlp, and fed it at least 500 watts, what would the difference be between a 1.5 cube ported box vs a 2.0 cube ported box
July 28, 200520 yr Admin it seems that people have been more happy with the output at 2.0 and greater,
July 28, 200520 yr Admin so the bigger the box, the louder it will soundthere are limits, but with in reason, the RL-p is a ported box driver and 2.0 seems to have been a sweet spot, unless you want to try to go larger
July 28, 200520 yr "the RL-p is a ported box driver "is it? why would someone desighn a sq sub for a ported box?

July 28, 200520 yr Benefits of a larger enclosure?Ability to extend lower.More efficient, lower power handling.Flatter response.
July 29, 200520 yr i would chose the 2ft^3 tuned about 34hz....that's a great streetbeater box for the rl-p...the sq isn't lacking in it either..wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I'm not sureI'm still toying around with making a transmission line for the Rl-p just for fun but I might put my IDMAX in that instead, since I just made a fiberglass box for my SS

I'm not sureI'm still toying around with making a transmission line for the Rl-p just for fun but I might put my IDMAX in that instead, since I just made a fiberglass box for my SSno, i wouldn't go any bigger. in fact, for sq, i'd just tune a bit lower, possibly. but only if ur midbass was strong. IME, tuning real low takes the output side of things outa the equation. when i did the 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 28hz, i honestly didn't like the sound or the output from the rl-p (or xxx for that matter), but when i slugged the box to get it up to 34-35hz, displacement dropped to 1.9-2ft^3...both sounded awesome.i know of a few ppl running about 2ft^3 tuned to 28hz and love it..that's why i suggest the 2ft^3 box, it just seems to work well in it..wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
