April 27, 201015 yr yp...but i want to see the tests from the users on this forum ....maybe this meter is more accurate than the TL ..... but they still need to be close ...cause everyone here is usin TL
April 27, 201015 yr Shizzon or Phi should be the first ones!Everyone, everywhere is using the TL! Its all there is!
April 27, 201015 yr actually, there are 2 SSA members on here that will be doing reviews 1st so everybody will be gettin their view of it within the next couple weeks.

However, I have seen my car meter differently from different TL meters.
April 27, 201015 yr The vids in Russian but just watch125dB peak just idling...I don't like this at all....I'd keep the gun holstered a bit
April 27, 201015 yr I dont know where but did I see that was from the exhaust or something? And how would that happen?I was wondering the same thing.
April 27, 201015 yr Yea, i'll admit, i bought one of those Hypderdynamics meters from MakeItLouder. The one you use a multimeter then gotta calculate the pressure level based on the volt out reading. It's a great little meter for simple things but you also gotta realize-In competition, a pressure meter cycles in 1 sec intervals and takes an average reading of everything in 1 sec intervals. When i use that Hyperdynamics meter, the multimeter refreshes rapidly so u can't get a realistic score when trying to measure very high pressure levels because the multimeter won't stay constant if you are peaking your install.I would recommend using a "Peak Hold" DMM when using the Hypderdynamics meter. It works good when using the peak hold setting.
April 27, 201015 yr I dont know where but did I see that was from the exhaust or something? And how would that happen?I was wondering the same thing. One meter shows noise, one doesn't 4.x hz from the exhaust ?

And how would that happen?I was wondering the same thing. One meter shows noise, one doesn't 4.x hz from the exhaust ?I seen that too. I have no idea why. Just throwing out shit, I thought I heard. I had a feeling it was waaay off though. Anyone have an answer on this?

April 27, 201015 yr It does matter just for the fact, we would like to know why. Is it measuring something the TL isnt? If so, what?
April 27, 201015 yr I wanna know what the guy is saying, maybe he explains it.In this video we will compare D2 and Termlab. The car is Mitsubishi Pajero, Two Kicker Solo X, two Sundown 3500D From Russian to Bulgarian then English. lol
April 27, 201015 yr Calm down hehe let me tell you why it does that. Before i do, to whoever said to use peak hold on DMM with Hyperdynamics meter-That's not as accurate because in order for that meter to be equivalent to a TL, the reading has to remain steady for 1 full second. For a burst reading... it's not as accurate and yes when i use mine, i make sure it has a steady reading before i record any information from it.OK, now back to the SPL-Lab meter-For those that own a TL, you would know that the TL CAN do this as well. What you are seeing is the "noise floor" in the room. The TL software is set to be very strict at not showing any scores below 120db during a peak hold metering session. It specifically says on SPL-Lab's site that if you are getting measurements below 20hz, you can download the update to their software to suppress this noise and make the meter more accurate under that frequency range. It's possible it's reading something below 20hz or it's simply the noise in the background.Just with the TL, i'm sure you can suppress the readout on their meter too to not display anything below a certain threshold but won't know for certain until i have it in my hands.Remember, the meter is calibrated to be accurate between 120-175db.In all honesty, if you are really only planning on metering a vehicle whose output is under 130db, you do NOT need the SPL meter, you need the RTA meter as it ranges from 90-130db.
April 27, 201015 yr Admin Wayne is not going to be happy about this. Who is Wayne?Term-Lab prices may need to drop to be a little more competitive.Yes sir but I highly doubt they do
April 28, 201015 yr Excellent explanation Shizzon. No worries! Still want someone speaking English during their review of the SPL Lab meter though!
