Posted May 5, 201015 yr Is 12gauge speaker wire sufficient for running a saz-1500d to sa12s. I'll be running the amp at 1ohm.Speaker wire is about 4feet in length. If it can't handle that much power then can I just double it up and run two strands for each positive and another two for the negative.
May 5, 201015 yr So assuming you are running (2) D4 subs and ~1800 watts from that amplifier, 12 ga is more than enough.
May 5, 201015 yr 10-14 gauge wire will do fine for subwoofers but you can go bigger if you want to, just a preference thing thats all.
May 6, 201015 yr Unless you're after all out SPL, there's no gain to be had running something bigger then 12 gauge.
