In July i'm heading out to Nashville from NY to an event called Import Alliance.

Any general maintenance i should do on the car to prep it for 14 hr 890 mile trip?

Should i raise my suspension up an inch for a better ride?

Where are you resting at?

Change Fluids, OIL! They should do a 20 point inspection at the shop, wiper blades, check tire pressure, and make sure your spare tire as air. Cooler!

damn, i don't haz a spare...time to buy one.

What vehicle is this?

2003 Acura TL

hahah do these tips up above, the last thing your gonna want to do is be forced to stop to fix these problems

example: just got back two weeks ago from a trip to california all the way from michigan in a 1991 camry with 1500 dollars worth of problems but the kid decided not to pay a single cent to fix it....one tire looked flat, break pads smelled aweful, overall we made it back though. SO thats the good thing

only reason we took his vehicle is because we could get 600 miles a tank :trippy:

check the engine belt.. dont want it to snap on the way there right?check oil and fluids..check for any leaks.. and make sure you pack a couple of 40oz mickeys for the trip :drink40:

best of luck on your trip. You got someone riding with you to keep you from falling asleep?

Thanks alot everyone

I'm gonna go ahead and get a full tune up, raise the car up an inch, and wrap up the front end with painters tape to avoid rock chip damage.

Don't know yet...may bring my girlfriend..

I'll be rollin' with a 20 car caravan and we'll be making about 5 stops along the way to re-fuel and rest.

Why are you condoning drinking and driving?

Thanks alot everyone

Raising the car will lower fuel economy. But I guess you have to balance that with comfort. Not sure how it rides now.

20 cars!! why?

never knew that...

Mind explaining why/ how it lowers fuel economy?

I def won't be drinking on the way there..the last thing i need is to be pulled over by a state trooper.

20 cars!! why?

That's usually how it is when folks to go big events.

It's 20 cars as of now and it takes place mid July, so it'll probably be 50-60 cars from the northeast by time it comes to rollout.

Here's a couple pics from last years event

More drag. Sure the car is the same size, but when you raise it up more air goes under the car and hits everything down there, like axles, exhaust, control arms, etc. When the vehicle is lower, most of the air is pushed out to the sides and skirts around the outside of the car instead of going under it. I've heard of people putting a spoiler under the front of their truck that nearly touches the ground and it improved fuel economy. I'm sure it looked weird though. And I'm not sure how much it would affect it on your car, it's impossible to say. May not be noticeable.

I suppose. If I remember my Mythbusters right, they said something like below 45 mph windows down is better, above 55 AC is better.

Damn, never have anything like that around here and work to much to be able to go to far! Post up some pics when you get back I'd love to see them! :drink40:
