Posted August 4, 201015 yr Currently in my car I have a pair of Alpine SPR-13Ss (http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/spr-13s/), and I also have an 18" SSD @ 32hz in a 9cuft box. The SSD is extremely loud, and depending on the song, tends to drown out my fronts. So I was looking at trying to run some pro audio so I can get a clear and loud front stage that can be heard over my sub. I was reading some threads, and saw these tweets: Selenium ST350 Super Tweeter I'm sure they will more than outperform my current tweeters. I was also looking at this midbass: Selenium 10PW3-SLF 10" DriverThe only problem with 10" midbass is making custom pods for my doors. I have never done anything like that, and would be clueless as how to go about it ? It might be a better idea to go with 8" midbass, just to be space conscious. I still haven't decided on that yet.I was also wondering, if I do get a 10 or 8 for midbass, should i keep my current 5.25" in their stock locations, or will they be drowned out ?
August 4, 201015 yr Why not start smaller and go with the 6W4P.You should get a good feel if that is a route you want to take after playing around with them and you wont have to modify you doors so much.
August 4, 201015 yr Author Do you have an amp for them? An amp makes a huge difference.....Not at the moment, and I know it does. I still want to run something bigger though, because these seriously lack bass and distort easily because of it. Upgrading to something bigger will help a lot.Why not start smaller and go with the 6W4P.You should get a good feel if that is a route you want to take after playing around with them and you wont have to modify you doors so much. That does sound like a better idea. Wouldn't it be possible to just have a slightly bigger hole for my door then ? Instead of going through the trouble of fiberglassing. The depth of the 6W4P would fit fine in my car. August 4, 201015 yr Yeah, just cut a MDF ring to hold the larger 6.5" driver and mount that to your door and the driver to it.You will need amps and active crossovers to run these drivers.Might as well get an amp on your current drivers and see if that helps first before you go spending money. You might liek them with some power on them.

August 4, 201015 yr dude you serious? I have the 6.5 components off a 100 rms amp because i think thats the rms but they keep up with my 2 12 RE SE 12's at 1600 rms. You might get way more with an amp when i had mine i got the speakers before the amp. They sounded like shit compared to an amp. Got the amp and they are bangin hard here my mid's and high's nicely in all of the songs......

Looks like it will work perfect for now.I'm keeping them to see how they do on an amp. If I don't like the performance i will go bigger. Edited August 4, 201015 yr by hatrix
August 14, 201015 yr Author Just ordered an amp for my front stage. I was waiting on my paycheck until now. Also ordered some wire too from Knu. They ship to my house in about 1-2 days since im in ohio. Hopefully i can get rid of the distortion that happens with certain songs at high volume.
August 15, 201015 yr Author Eh just a Hifonics HFi100.2 someone linked to above. I was in my budget and I'm sure it will do fine for the front stage.
