all hooked up to a good electrical system should i run the amp at full tilt or dial back just wonderin if the sub will take it for a daily beating and last

Maybe I am misunderstanding the question, but you should never run your amp "full tilt". The gain on your amp is to match up your amp's output with the output voltage on your head unit. Do this with a dmm, o-scope, or atleast by ear using audible distortion as a stopping point , then backing down a little.

If your asking can the fully loaded BTL take 3K daily, then the answer depends on you. Do you know how to look for signs of stress in your system? Smell coils getting hot, hear the sub bottoming out or unloading. Alot of subs can take more than rated rms if the power is CLEAN. Keep it clean and pay attention and you should have no trouble.

BTW, nice choice on the gear. GLWB!

I got a Sundown 3000 pushing a 15" AA SMD and my electrical has a hard time keeping up sometimes.

I got

Big 3 all in 1/0

1 run each pos/neg to amp in 1/0

DC Power 320/150 amp alternator

One Kinetik HC 1200

One Kinetik Hc 2400

3 300 amp fuses

And I still get voltage drop to 13.0 - 12.9 (fairly loud though) @ idle. Just touching on the "electrical" cause that plays a big part in clean power. But yeah like PHATBOi said.... Just keep it clean.

Adjust your amp as necessary. It depends on many factors from your amp to your enclosure to your own abilities to detect problems. If you have to ask lean towards the conservative side- your equipment will last longer that way.

You'll likely never know if your amp is running at full tilt, so it doesn't matter. Just adjust the gain to where the driver doesn't get stressed by overexcursion or overheating.

thanks alot everyone i will wire it up and oscope it everyone says clean power so ill make sure electrical is up to par first once again thanks for the help guys

Just because you have clean power doesn't mean you won't blow the sub. That amp will put out 3000-3500 watts of clean power, more than enough to blow a 2000 watt RMS driver such as the BTL. Don't count on the oscope to save you. Use your ears and smarts.
