with 300 watts :lol::P

went to a small audio meet in here in town, and many people had their stuff metered. i figured what the hell, so i borrowed a friend's amp (i STILL don't have my main amp yet...but that's for another thread).

his amp puts out 300 @ 2 ohms. the termlab was used, and was placed in the passenger side kick panel. i hit 137 dB...

guess that doesn't seem TOO bad considering the sub is in a 2.0 sealed, and in the trunk....with only 300 going to it....

300w on a 15" sub and 137dB's

id say thats pretty good

thats some good numbers for one sub at 300 watts, makes me want mine even more, hopefully soon!

I agree

where can i get metered. i dont know of many auio places around here because i only trust myself to do any work to my car. im one of those DIY'ers. would maybe a place like sound advice have a tl meter or seomthing?

You can either call around and ask your local shops, or go to an SPL show and compete.

well i'm planning on sending ~800-900 watts daily. should be louder :)

i'm sure i can squeeze out a few more .x dB's if my backseat could fold down :(

Well time to strap the RL-p to this bad boy and see what she can do.

I get 135 on a single 12" with about 300W :D

And I'm pressurizing a whole lot more air than you...

Good job.

wow, 135 with a 12 with about 300 watts? :)

what kind of box is your sub in?

Just curious, are you guys anywhere near when the measurements are taken, or do you wear hearing protection?

I don't understand how everyone isn't deaf with the dB numbers you're talking about.

yeah i was in the car with my finger on the pause button on my remote. i just did several 3 second bursts. it's not that loud...

now sitting in my friend's explorer that did a 155+ dB...now THAT'S loud...

  • Author

ah i had my ears covered in his explorer lol. he had on earplugs and only burped his MTs when we got 'ready'

My RL-ps are probably pulling around a 141 on music (143ish if I tone burp). I listen to it daily...at that level, for entire songs. My left ear hurts if I put much pressure on it inwards, and it aches sometimes after getting out of the car.

RL-p = teh deaf
