Posted August 30, 201015 yr I am sure this is an easy one. I don't even know if it's a dumb question but ...On the ZED Leviathan amp, what is the FLAT button on Channels 5+6? What does it do on and off?I see it has something to do with running channels five and six in low pass, but that's the extent of my knowledge as to what that button does.TIA
August 30, 201015 yr More than likely either full range signal or switchable to low pass.Bromo on here has that amplifier I believe, he will know the answer for sure.
August 30, 201015 yr Author Well there is a low pass filter button next to it. It is somehow associated with the low pass filter switch but I just don't know what it does. The manual says this, which is a clue as to it's function but I really don't get a clear answer from this:"Run all six channels in FLAT mode. This will enable you to use an outboard processor of your choice including our upcoming full tube electronic crossover."Hmmm ... Anyone?
August 30, 201015 yr The flat button is there to bypass the LP filter, gives you a full range signal. The LP button next to it is there to select which input source you want to feed the 5+6 channels either 1-4 inputs or 5+6 inputs.

So as long as I am not using and low pass filter before the amp into channels 5+6 and I want to use the Leviathans crossover, then I should make sure that the Low pass button is up as well as the FLAT button. Correct?
August 31, 201015 yr Will you be plugging the RCAs into the 5+6 inputs or using the signal from the 1-4 inputs? Flat button out to use the on board crossovers. The Leviathan is able to do a three way active with just using the 1-4 inputs. That is why the switch is there, so you can use the 1-4 signal for the sub channel and it just uses the signal before any processing is done.
